The Tachi Palace Hotel and Casino is a nice, new facility which recently (11/5/06) opened an attached 255-room hotel, spa facility. The casino has a poker room with 16 tables on the 3rd floor (the non-smoking floor of the casino). At about 12p on a recent Sunday, the casino had only one of the 16 poker tables running, a $2/$4 limit hold'em game with a $20 minimum buy-in. The poker room manager said the no limit game typically gets going by mid to late afternoon.
The room expects to hold bi-monthly WSOP satellites starting in January; most of the tables are slated for those tournaments. See the WSOP brochure in items of interest above.
Tachi allows smoking throughout the main floor of the casino and does not serve alcohol. Food service is available tableside, though.
The waitlist is manual sign-up and intercom system is effective; you can hear your name called for your seat throughout the casino and parking lot.
