Raked hands
The definition of a "raked hand" varies from site to site, but in general, a "raked hand" is one in which you participate (that is, you've been dealt cards) and the site takes a "rake" from the pot. Many sites adopt a "no flop, no drop" policy which means that if there's no flop, they won't take a rake. As a result, the number of raked hands per hour is usually less than the hands dealt per hour. Also, many sites count "raked hands" at smaller limit tables as a fraction of a "raked hand." A "raked hand" at a 5c/10c table might only count as 1/4 to 1/2 a raked hand for purposes of bonus clearing.
There's a couple of ways you can figure it out for your specific site and game size.
1) You can call or email support; some sites like SunPoker and Bodog are pretty good about explaining it over the phone;
2) You can look at the bonus section of a specific site review on this site; raked hands are usually explained;
3) You can search the specific site's help section or website; there's often a description of how they calculate raked hands; or
4) You can play for a couple of hours and keep track of the raked hands you're generating; it's a crude way of doing it, but it works.
