Phil Hellmuth likes making it easy for me Every now and then I write something where I criticize the play of Phil Hellmuth. I maintain to this day that while Phil certainly isn’t ‘bad’ in the sense that he’s unprofitable in live tournaments, he is ‘bad’ in the sense that he’s ****ing clueless with pot odds, stack sizes, position, math, playing thinking players, and especially ranges. Every time I state stuff like this (also known as stating the obvious) a couple dozen Phil Hellmuth supporting mouth breathers come out of the woodwork and snap at me with comments like “OH MY GOD, WHAT DO YOU KNOW BOND!? DO YOU HAVE 11 WSOP ... Read Full Post |

bracelet man wanted to make the hero fold; disgusting fold, i wud hav shoved in the sec °___° |
this entire episode was filled with crazy plays. Paul, the amateur for example folds his BB with very few BB left when Jennifer raised (or went all-in) from the button with only 3-4 BB's. He had QJ. Worse, MM raised from the CO or Button with KT even though Jennifer was in the BB with a very, very short-stack so he was going to get called by some many hands. Did he really want to gamble for 5-6k (Jennifer's stack) with KT? MM is in BB with AA and flat calls Gavin and then check calls all-in when Gavin raises. Now MM thought this was such a great play (he got sucked out on) but it was completely standard and anything else would have been bad. MM made a very bad play early on but I forget the hand. |
I think Hellmuth figures any ev he loses by folding qq in these spots is made up by the gains in nEV. (n = narcissism) The guy's just a big attention whore who probably does this **** on purpose. Funny thing is it worked! |
Also: Come on Bond, do some blog posts for the APPT! Please? |
i love how the topic at the table at the start of the video is about smart people doing dumb things. |
Phil Hellmuth is not bad but he certainly has too many weaknesses. Of course he wins a tournament from time to time since he never misses one. This game is about luck too, nut just skill. You can be a complete fish but if you'll play in all tournaments, you'll end up winning some of them. / Nabukadnezar |
