Oceans 11 Casino is a 45-table card room located directly off the 5 freeway in Oceanside, CA, about 40 miles north of San Diego. The casino has good range of NL and limit hold'em action (no stud or mixed games that we saw) and draws a number of regular customers from the surrounding areas.
There are three main rooms, one for Asian games and blackjack by the entrance, one main poker room in which the higher limit games are run and a separate tournament room in which the tournaments and lower limit games are held.
Oceans holds a daily tournament at 10a (see the items of interest for details including the structure) and a $100 buy-in NL tournament each Sunday that draws about 130 players and runs about 4 hours.
We found the floor staff to be helpful and accessible; dealers are friendly and efficient. The waitlists are projected on large screens in each of the rooms and the staff does a good job of filling open spots. Players can call up to 1 hr and 15 minutes ahead to get on the board for 8/16, 20/40, 40/80 limit games and 5/5 and 10/10 NL games.
Tables are 9-handed with autoshufflers in the main room; no autoshufflers in the tournament/low stakes NL room. Tables and chairs (fixed leg) are in good shape.
Food is available tableside and comped for players at 20/40 limit and 5/5 NL and above. Note: Ocean's offers the best tableside dining we've seen in a poker room--friendly, responsive service, quality and preparation comparable to that of fine restaurants and low cost.
