The Peppermill poker room has 16 tables in a semi-enclosed area of the casino. The room offers a variety of limit, NL and Omaha action as well as daily (except Saturday) tournaments. The Sunday tournament draws about 40 entrants. The Peppermill also hosts two very popular, annual (Spring and Fall) tournament series. The room also runs a tournament in June when the National Bowling Tournament is in town.
Waitlists are kept by hand; at 2p on a recent Saturday there was no waiting for 2/4 limit or 1/2 NL.
The room itself is clean and modern, seperated from the main casino area by a half-wall surrounding the area. Tables (autoshufflers) and chairs (swivel) are new and comfortable. The tables are also well-lit with lighting directing over each table.
Staff and dealers are friendly and knowledgeable. Info on games and tournaments is readily available at the front deak.
The room offers tableside beverage and dining. Players can accrue $.75/hour in comps.
Note: the casino/hotel is very nice by Reno/Tahoe standards, consistently ranking at the top of most area reviews. In addition, the Peppermill has undertaken a $300 million expansion that should be completed in the fall of 07; see Items of Interest above. Inside, the casino can be a little overwhelming--the use of neon is extreme even by Vegas standards.
