The Turning Stone Resort & Casino recently expanded its poker room to a former slot area between the old poker room and the restaurants. The elegant, spacious new room now offers 32 tables in a luxurious, old world Italian setting of wood-inlaid ceilings, marble columns and subtle earth-tone colors. The room is open 24/7, year-round. There is a $2 entrance fee to the room good for 24 hours.
T/S spreads a variety of limit (2/4 through 20/40), NL (1/2 through 5/10) , Omaha and stud. Waitlists are now managed via electronic boards; players can call up to an hour in advance to get placed on a list. Wait times vary considerably by game; as you might expect, lists for NL games can be an hour or more on busy nights and weekends. That said, the floor staff do an excellent job of keeping the lists moving and seating new players quickly. Note: if you want a seat in the larger NL game offered on Friday night, you should call the room at 12p to get on the list.
T/S runs daily tournaments Mon-Thu at 12p and 7p, Sat at 11a and Sun at 11a and 7p (see the schedule under Items of Interest above for specifics). The daily tournaments have an nice structure (4000 start chips, 25/50 starting blinds and 20 minute levels) which allows for a decent amount of play. T/S also hosts larger, one off events (like the Turning Stone Classic in May) throughout the year.
Tables, felt and chairs (fixed leg) are comfortable with plenty of room to move around, and there are several plasma TVs visible from every seat. There is food and beverage service available tableside, but no alcohol is served throughout the casino. You can BYOB in restaurants if you're discreet.
Players can get a poker room rate of $80-85/night for 6 hours of play or tournament registration.
