  Our quick thoughts
Bugsy's Club is a great choice if you're a budget-minded player looking to pick up quality tournament experience. Specifically, the site offers a number of low buy-in tournaments with large starting stacks (10,000 chips) and generous level times (10-20 minutes). If you're just plain cheap, you can play for free on PokerPages (a related site) and earn points which can then be converted into cash for real money games on Bugsy's. There's not much action at limits over $2, but there are plenty of lower limit ring games and lower buy-in sit n gos. The software is reliable, allows unlimited tables and offers one of the better statistics tracking features we've seen. Again, focus on the MTTs; they offer an exceptional tournament experience and value. Note: the sign-up bonus clears through both ring game and tournament play.

  What we liked
- You'll love the MTTs--great structure (10,000 chips and 10-20 min level times), smaller fields, complete lobby info
- Athough ring game traffic is limited, flop %s routinely exceed 40+%
- You can pull up stats for specific sessions or tournaments
- It's obvious when you have notes on a player
- You can play for free on PokerPages
  What we didn't like
- The ring game and SnG activity is limited; most traffic is at low limits and buy-ins
- Hand histories are available by email only
- There's no option to show bet amounts
- The site offers Omaha, stud and razz, but we never saw players
- The minimum deposit is high ($50 via NETeller)
Why you should play the site
- The Sunday $10k Gtd (Sun 4p EST) offers a 30% overlay and 25,000 in start chips; it runs about 4 hrs or so
- Bugsy's offers excellent MTT structures; minimum of 10,000 starting chips, 10-20 min levels
- Low buy-in MTTs with manageable fields (<100 players) run regularly on the site
- The sign-up bonus (40%, max $200) clears through both ring games and tournaments
- You can play for free on PokerPages
- It's integrated with PokerSchoolOnline, a resource for players trying to improve their play
  For the ring game player
- Lobby info includes flop %s, hands/hr, players, etc.
- Most ring game activity is lower limit (<$2)
- Micro-limit games have flop %s of 50+%
- The software allows for unlimited multi-tabling
  For the tournament player
- Small MTTs (<100 entrants) with a great structure (10,000 chips, 10-20 min levels) are held hourly
- Bugsy's offers a $100 Gtd, $0 buy-in, 1c fee, 2-day event with 10,000 chips, 20 min levels
- SnGs are mostly low buy-in ($10 or less) but offer 1,500 starting chips and 10 minute levels
- The overlay in the $10,000 Gtd (Sun, 4p EST) is 30% or more; 25,000 start chips, 10 minute levels and <150 entrants make it worth playing
- Tournament play counts toward clearing bonuses
  For the value player
- The MTTs and SnGs are almost all low buy-in gigs
- Bugsy's offers a $100 Gtd, $0 buy-in, 1c fee, 2-day event with 10,000 chips, 20 min levels; you can't find cheaper MTT
- The Sun $10k Gtd often offers an overlay of 30+%
- Play for free on PokerPages; they offer freerolls and MTTs in which you can accumulate points to build a real money bankroll on Bugsy's
- Join PokerSchoolOnline; for $14.95/month, you get access to instruction AND a variety of freerolls
  Insider tips
- The weekly Sunday MTT draws <150 entrants but still runs 5+ hours
- The raise button is a RAISE BY button; be careful not to overbet
- Pay attention; it's not always obvious when it's your turn to act

  Software review
Bugsy's software offers a full range of features with pleasing table graphics. The lobby offers complete info for both ring game selection (flop %s, avg pot size, hands/hr, etc. and the MTT lobbies are comprehensive. At the table, the action is clear and easy to follow although it's not always obvious when it's your turn to act. Note: the raise button is a RAISE BY button. The session stats feature is great; you can pull up your stats by tournament, session, type of game, etc. There's an option to use small or large tables; the small table is fine, but we thought the action was clearer and easier to follow on the large table. You can't post a unique image or avatar at the table; the site is kids and cleavage-free. One annoying quirk: if you leave the table by mistake and rejoin the same table and seat, you're prompted to post out of turn. Our only other beef is that hand histories are available via email only; note, though, the response is almost instantaneous. Mac users take note: Bugsy's offers a Mac-compatible download that we found to be equal to the PC version and very reliable. Players are also given tabbed access to Bugsy's affiliated sites (PokerPages, OnlinePokerSchool) from the lobby.
  Hand histories
Hand histories are available by email only; the response time, though, is almost instanteous. Mucked hands are not shown in hand histories unless players opt to do so. As of Mar 06, Bugsys Club hand histories are not supported by PokerTracker.
