  Our quick thoughts
Everest Poker does not accept US players.

If you're looking for some variety but don't really want to make a big deposit commitment to yet another site, you should consider Everest Poker. You get $100 of bonus money just for opening an account (note: the bonus clears based on amount wagered) and the site spreads freeroll sit n gos. If you grind a little and build a little bankroll, you'll want to work the NL games...the site has a lot of European players that apparently idolize Gus Hansen--any two cards and they're good to go. If you get your AA cracked by some joker playing 87o and need to reload, the minimum deposit is $5 (FirePay and Click2Pay)--there's no need to make a $50 commitment. We found a surprising amount of traffic for a newer site...in both ring games and sit n gos...albeit at lower limits, but we had no trouble finding $10 sit n go action and NL tables at $10 stakes and below. If you're a SnG player, we found the sit n go play to be more aggressive than the 10 minute level times and 67x starting chip to blind ratio would dictate. Play tight and let the other guys blow themselves up; you'll money. Note: there's not much limit action, and the site doesn't spread Omaha or stud yet. Oh yeah, and you'll really like the software...it's VERY cool.

Ring game play clears bonus? yes
Players are given a $100 welcome bonus just for opening an account. The bonus clears at a rate of $1 for every $100 wagered in a real money game in a pot that is raked. If you play $2/4 with an average pot of $20 and 3-4 players, you'll wager an average of $7-10 per hand. At 20 hands played per hour, you'll wager $150-200 and clear about $2 per hour.

  What we liked
- $100 bonus just for opening an account
- $5 minimum deposit (FirePay, Click2Pay); $1 minimum cashout
- Freeroll sit n gos (aka the Shasta tables)
- Lots of hyper-aggressive European players
- Cool software with excellent graphics
- Complete lobby info including a table search feature
- Accurate session statistics at the table; nice hand history feature
- Blind structure is posted on the site
  What we didn't like
- Not much limit action to speak of
- The freeroll sit n gos seat faster than Party $5 SnGs!
- Multi-lingual chat; you never know what guys are saying
- Relatively small card graphics
- At present, only hold 'em is offered
- Our set of tens got worked by some donut drawing to an inside straight...ugh
Why you should play the site
- With the $100 bonus just for opening an account, you can build a bankroll from scratch
- Minimum deposit on the site: $5 (via Firepay and Click2Pay)
- There are a couple $500 freerolls for additional bonus money daily
- The site spreads freeroll limit SnGs (aka the "Shasta" tables) constantly
- The NL and SnG players were...uh...let's just say, you'll do fine
  For the ring game player
- There's plenty of activity to multi-table low stakes (up to 5 tables at once)
- The NL ring games we played were pretty sloppy
- Hand histories are maintained for 3 months
- Detailed session stats are available at the table
  For the tournament player
- They're small, but there are MTTs running every half hour
- There are frequent freerolls including freerolls to EPT satellite events
- SnG buy-ins range from 4c to $100; we found plenty of activity at $10 and below
- They offer heads up SnGs with up to $100 buy-ins
- The SnG blind structure (10 min levels) allows a good amount of play
- Level times are posted at the table; you know exactly when they're increasing
- Chip and blind denominations are unusual; players start with 100 chips; the blinds start at .5/1
- SnG play is more hyper than the blinds dictate; we routinely got heads up with 20x the blinds
  For the value player
- $5 minimum deposit (FirePay or Click2Pay) and $1 minimum cashout
- Every new player is given a $100 bonus just for opening an account
- The bonus clears at a rate of $1 for every $100 wagered
- Check out the Chip & a Chair tournaments; $1 buy-in and no fee; about 300 entrants
- At off-peak times (after 9p EST), the $500 freerolls draw 800 entrants vs 1000 during peak hours (12-4p EST)
- There are freerolls to EPT satellites
  Insider tips
- The bonus clears based on the amount wagered; it clears faster at NL tables
- The play at the SnGs is stupid aggressive; you have plenty of time to wait for premium hands
- Jump on the Shasta tables; they fill almost instantaneously
- You can only play one Shasta table at a time (the freeroll SnGs)
- Peak traffic is roughly 12-4p EST

  Software review
Everest Poker offers a unique and very attractive 3-D interface. The software doesn't offer a lot of options, but most of the features you want and need are incorporated already. The lobby is tabbed for tables, SnGs and MTTs and includes a feature to find a table based on criteria you select. If you want to look for a game manually, complete table info is available from the lobby aiding game selection. At the table, you're seated front and center by default, action is easy to follow, bet and pot amounts are shown by default and the pre-select and betting buttons are large, intuitive and include a bet pot button. The most recent hand history is available at the table, and three months worth of hand histories are available from the MyAccount page. In a nice touch for a multi-lingual site, the F1-F12 keys can be used to offer expressions in the native language of other users (nice hand, good bet, etc.).
  Hand histories
The most recent hand history is available at the table in the upper right hand of the screen. Older hand histories (up to 3 months) are available from the My Account page. Mucked cards don't show up in hand histories.
