#2 of the LA casinos. Renovated over last few years; nicer now. Area has improved, too. As #2, more innovative than Commerce. Table action tends to be nittier than Commerce at comparable levels. Daily tournaments are good. Hosts Legends of Poker WPT event. Easily accessible from 710 (aka Long Beach) freeway. Stuey played here!

Closest card room to the LA westside. Cavernous facility adjacent to racetrack. Plenty of action at all levels and variety of games. Limited wait times for all but largest games. Decent tournament action. Has ePoker (automated tables) area. Limited restaurant facilities. Sketchy area (Inglewood) with limited hotel accomodations; close to LAX.

Older facility in tough area of town. Few innovations (electronic boards recently added) or amenities, but good staff and worth playing. Limited poker action for card room of this size but 8/16 kill holdem is a favorite. Hustler is nicer, has better NL action <1/2 mile away. Limited tournament activity; 1-2x per week, tops

Nice, newer facility easily accessible from 110 freeway. Good selection of limit and NL action. Can get crowded at times; table spacing not great. Good daily (7p) tournaments; recently opened an expanded tournament area. Not as racy as you'd think; Hustler in name only. Cool restaurant upstairs.

Hotel/card room combo in Compton, CA, off 91 (Artesia) freeway. Recently changed ownership (late 2005 or early 2006) and renovated. Limited poker action; 80+% of business is other games: pai gow, blackjack, etc. Of 25 or so poker tables, most are slated for tournament activity.

Surprisingly large (and growing cardroom) off 605 freeway. Structure is funky; two huge quonset huts. Wide variety of games and limits. Often crowded and noisy, but plenty of tables so wait times are minimal. Originated fixed buy-in NL in LA area; low buy-in NL games for novice players. Daily tournament times and games vary. Sit n gos offered Su, Mo, Th after 2-8p, Fr 11-3p. Friendly and professional staff. Limited food amenities, but tableside food is first-rate.

Small but nice room directly off 5 freeway in Oceanside, CA. Room is heavily oriented toward poker; all levels. Lower stakes NL games tend to be a free-for-all. Good daily tournaments. Limited other games: pai gow, blackjack. Note: no collection in pai gow games. Players can call one hour and 15 minutes ahead to get on the list for 8/16, 20/40, 40/80, 5/5 NL and 10/10 NL. Excellent food and service for card room of this size.

Biggest of the LA casinos. The Daddy; first to announce rake increases. Tons of action in all games. Daily tournaments are rebuys; no structure posted. Can be overwhelming and impersonal. LA Poker Classic held in late Jan/early Feb; hotel fills up. Easily accessible from 5 freeway.
