The blinds were quite high, $150,000-$300,000 with an ante of $50,000. Dannenmann bet 700,000 preflop and Hachem smooth called.  The flop gave Hachem the straight and second-nuts.  He decided to slow play the hand and simply checked.  Dannenmann trying to take the pot right there with the baby end of the open-ended straight draw fired $700,000.  Hachem shot back with a raise to $1,700,000 and Dannenmann simply called.  The turn gave Dannenmann top pair.  Hachem bet $2 million and Danneman raised it to $5,000,000.  Hachem, after a moment of hesitation moved all-in.  Dannenman called and it was all over.

EValuator Tool™

Many times in a poker session you face a difficult decision regarding whether to call a bet or fold your hand. Whether or not you decide to call should be based on your belief of the expected value of that decision. Unfortunately, managing all the variables of that decision – the pot amount, the pot odds, your hand, your opponent’s range of hands, your win percentages against those range of hands, the probability of the various holdings, etc., etc. – is often overwhelming.

Our exclusive EValuator Tool™ helps you to determine the expected value (EV) of the call decision based on your estimate of your opponent’s possible range of hands.  Click here to start using the EValuator Tool now.
