 "No, we're brother and sister"
By SirWatts on 12/13/2007 read SirWatts' complete blog
I haven't played at all the last 3 days, my sister came down to visit me when she finished up with school for the term so I've just been hanging out with her. We saw a few shows, Wayne Brady on Monday night and KA by Cirque du Soleil on Tuesday. Wayne Brady was pretty good, if you're a fan of his you'd obviously like it, he did a lot of the usual stuff though, I wasn't overly impressed but it was fun. KA was great, the only other Cirque show I'd seen before was Love, the Beatles one, and I liked this one a lot more, I'm going to have to make sure to see the others when I get a chance. We also had some nice meals. Social House, the Japanese/sushi place at Treasure Island was the best meal we had by far. Unfortunately she left this evening so it's back to work for me with the $15K main event. I play Day 1B tomorrow.

In previous events I played the $5K tournament on Saturday. I grinded for 11 hours, never really getting much going.

 Good Times to Come
By A_Junglen on 12/13/2007 read A_Junglen's complete blog
Hey guys,

My new blog is up at my main site: AdamJunglen.com, so I forgot to cross-post here. Anyways, here's my latest post:

"I really haven’t been doing anything too productive lately. I need to finish some paper work and other end of the year errands, but besides that I’m mostly just looking forward to the Aussie Millions.

It’ll be really nice to finally play some live tournaments again. If you can’t tell by now, I definitely enjoy playing live more than online. I plan on playing a few of the preliminary events, and am really looking forward to the main event. I also really enjoyed my time in Melbourne when I visited last year. It’s one of my favorite cities and I’m looking forward to having a lot of fun away from the tables, as well.

After the Aussie Millions, in February I’ll be moving out. I found a nice, brand new, “Apartment Home,” that’s close to home.

Law and Order, P5’s Division, The Imper1um Investigation, Conclusion!
By Bond18 on 12/11/2025 read Bond18's complete blog
In the Pocketfives justice system, all defendants are extremely guilty at the moment of accusation, but considerably more guilty after confession, after which they’re pretty much just hated on for a while. These are their stories.

*While the jury is in seclusion, the crowd chatters and mumbles about the events that have taken place. Some argue about what the interview will say, whether Imper1um should be banned, and whether it was acceptable to out Andy Mcleod. Judge Adam sits in the center looking exhausted, while Imper1um shifts nervously in his chair, sweating profusely. Bond18 stands up from his seat and begins to address Judge Adam*

Bond18: So uh, Judge Adam, with Andy Mcleod being banned and all does that mean he’s taken off the rankings? Like, do I become number 1 in Australia, by default and what not?

Judge Adam: Yes, I suppose so.

Bond18: Sweet! A whole continent! I can’t wait to call everyone I’ve ever met about this, boo yah!

 Quick Sunday update
By nath on 12/10/2025 read nath's complete blog
Had one of the simultaneously most successful and frustrating Sundays I've had in a while.

to summarize:

-16th in the Stars Sunday Warmup.
-25th in the Stars Sunday Million.
-6th in the UltimateBet UBOC event (a $200 NLH, like their usual Sunday)

Overall I made almost 17k but the three first prizes combined for something like 330k. And yes, I do believe I could have won all three of those.

More later. I'm exhausted now. Playing for 12 hours without a break, running the high-wire act that is tournament poker, will do that.

APPT Final Trip Report part 2, One Good Nit Deserves Another
By Bond18 on 12/09/2025 read Bond18's complete blog
With yesterday being the PLO event that I have no business playing I was hoping to head down to the beach, get a tan, become really drunk, and tell people I barely know “I never liked you anyway.” I meet up StevoL and Garage13 at their hotel as they finish up some online tournaments. Stevo winds up going quite deep in the nightly $150 on Stars, so we don’t make it down to the beach until 6pm. I didn’t have a swim suit (and managed to forget my towel) so I just went for it in my shorts. At some point on the beach I realized I hadn’t been in the ocean in nearly three years, and managed to forget how salty it is. At least the water wasn’t too cold. We found a Korean BBQ place for dinner (Boo yah!) and I got to sleep at a decent hour in preparation for the $1100 semi shootout event.

How exactly does a semi shootout event work? Here’s the idea; the tournament starts off as normal with tables being broken as players go out.

From the Dealer's Box: Borgata Audition
By xxrod17xx on 12/08/2025 read xxrod17xx's complete blog
Recap

I left you guys off in the last blog with a lot of uncertainty. This blog will probably be no different. I don’t know where I stand with the Showboat and I am working the WSOP Circuit at Harrah's come December 8th. All I know about that is that I have to show up at 11:30…that’s it. I ended up getting a call from The Borgata about dealing their WPT Winter Poker Open and I had an audition in a few days.

Above the Rest

As most people know that live and play poker in the area, Borgata is a top tier casino. They have easily the best poker room in A.C. possibly the east coast (I have never been to Foxwoods, but I heard it trumps [url=http://www.

 More Of The Same
By BadgerPro on 12/08/2025 read BadgerPro's complete blog
I stayed away from tournaments for the most part this week and stuck mostly to the cash games. I didn't put as many hours in actually playing this week either. I spent more time reading the forums and thinking about game strategy and theory as well as disguising some hands with other players to try and figure out any leaks I have right now.

I really don't think there is too much wrong with my game right now. When I get frustrated and go on tilt is only time I don't think I'm playing profitably. With this tournament downswing and the slow to break even progress in cash games it's been pretty tough lately to stay off of tilt. Many times I'll start out playing my 'A' game just to take some bad beats or coolers early. Sometimes I'm able to laugh it off but other times I can tell it affects my game.

A Final Table and Another Cash
By SirWatts on 12/08/2025 read SirWatts' complete blog
So I finished 2nd for $26.5K in one of the nightly $1K 2nd chance tournaments, and then 23rd in the $3K the next day for $5K. Let's see if I can remember how I managed to pull that off...

$1K 2nd Chance

Hand 1: I managed to double my stack to 10K by the first break. One hand that was sort of interesting was when I saw a flop with T9o in the SB at 25/50 after 2 limpers. Flop AJ8 2 spades, EP limper bets 200, button calls, and I call as well. Turn is a low spade and I lead for 500 and take it down.

Hand 2: I just got seated at a new table and arrive just in time to post my ante @ 100/200 a25. I'm still unracking my chips as it goes raise to 650 from EP, next to act calls, and I look at AA and make it 2050. Both call, the flop comes ten-high, original raiser bets 1K with 1100 behind (lol). Next guy folds I ship it and lose to his JJ that backdoors a flush to drop to 5800.

Hand 3: I open AJs in the CO to 1100 at 200/400 a25 with another 4K behind.

APPT Final Sydney Trip Report part 1, Casino Shitayle
By Bond18 on 12/07/2025 read Bond18's complete blog
t takes only an hour flight to get from Melbourne to Sydney, a welcome break from spending double digit hours on a plane just to get to a series of tournaments. I’ve never been outside the airport in Sydney before, and since they've never had any important tournaments and I don’t know anyone there there’s never been a reason. Besides, people always told me the Star City was, as Doctor Pauly put it “the worst card room in the world.” Surely they must be exaggerating?

The building and location for Star City in Sydney is actually quite nice just along an inlet of water with a great view of the entire city skyline, and the interior feels a lot like the Palms in Las Vegas. Looks can be deceiving. My girlfriend is soon seated in the $120 ladies event and I’ve already bought in for tomorrows $750 event, so I find Van Marcus and we get something to eat.

Quick Cliff Notes of last Couple Days
By SirWatts on 12/06/2025 read SirWatts' complete blog
went semi-deep in the $2K NL event on Tuesday busting 37th when 27 paid. Then I played drunken 2/4 mixed games at TI for 12 hours straight which was a blast. I didn't want to play the $2500 on no sleep up for 24 hours already so I crashed for 5 hours and then played the $1K 2nd chance at 7:15. 11 hours later I finished second in that tournament for 28.5K, managed to get home and get a couple hours sleep, and now I'm off to play the $3K event today. There's only a senior's event tomorrow so drunken mixed games are likely to follow tonight, but I'll write a tourney report for these eventually.

Mike
