Maybe, just maybe things are finally turning around. I just woke up and am getting ready to go to class....Yesterday I played zero hands of NL10 for the first time in several days. The night before I did play several hundred hands and after a while managed to get back into the positive numbers for the month. As the session started, I dropped after the usual beats/coolers but then I flopped a couple nuts straights that actually help up to flopped sets and such. It was quite an unusual feeling as I was always expecting to be outdrawn.
So if I turned it around at the end of the session, why didn't I play yesterday you ask? Well I actually felt like playing a tourney instead. I decided I would try the 22:45 Full Tilt 26$ Token Frenzy tournament. I built up a big stack quickly and basically sat out till the tokens were dished out to the top 44 players. I instantly exchanged my token for the 1:00 24+2 $17,000 Guarantee tournament. I moved up tripling my stack in the first 50 min before losing half of it with AK vs 1010. Then the last hand of the hour (after I had raised 3 outta 4 hands, people were commenting I was on tilt on the chat bar) I moved in with AJ and was called by A6 and 24 (lol). I pushed my stack up to 8600 and it leveled off at about 10K a little after the break. My stack never got much bigger to my dismay. I did make the money finishing 46th and cashing for just a little over 50 dollars. Well pocket change to you guys but 5 buy ins for me. Makes me happy.
Well hopefully I will play plenty of NL10 today in between and after school. No work so I should have a decent amount of free time. I will try to update you guys late tonight.....For now......Back To The Grind...

Wow...the past few days have been the roughest in my poker life. It just seems that I can't stop getting coolered and outdrawn. Of course I might have been able to get away from a few but its just so tough at the time...Others though are purely unexplainable......which leads me to these two hand histories....
WTF???
and...
You Gotta Be Joking
.....After those two hands I still managed to be ahead....This guy dumped 13 buyins in an hour and a half....
The next day I hoped my luck would turn around. I went to a friends house and was convinced to buy-in to a NL50 home game with the 13 dollars I had in my wallet. The table was VERY fishy and I ran it up to 30+ very quickly. Then came the hand that would put my on life tilt. 4 players limped to me on the button and I made a slightly sketchy play.

Wow......figures.....I am now down half a buy-in on the month after some ridiculous coolers. I have now slipped 6 buy-ins in about 4 days. Absolutely sick to my stomach. I now feel like I'm playing bad when it seems like I'm not. I played close about 1500 hands today and a friend watch the last several hundred. Many of the hands just left both of us shaking our head. I don't know what to make of any of it. It all started after one round river card....Right after I had put myself in the positive numbers for the day...
Ouch
Then here are some more of my favorites....
One Higher
Are you #$%^@!& kidding me???
Wow
Again?
There are so many more hands where I get outflopped or sucked into a hand where I'm already drawing dead. It is so tough to stay off tilt after that.

I haven't posted for several days now, but I also haven't played a great deal of poker, or at least as much as I'd liked to have. I have dropped a couple buy-ins since I last posted but I'm not greatly disappointed. I am still ahead for the month and my winrate is now back to where it has been for months. My hands have slowed down and today I was especially victim of some ugly boards. Not as many terrible outdraws but more missing flops, and being outflopped. I still feel fine and aside from a few plays my game is not terrible. I'm trying to play the absolute maximum number of hands my schedule will allow this month. I want my rakeback to be huge for October along with my overall winrate. I recently made an account on Red Nines Poker, from the Prima Network. I signed up for rakeback through RaketheRake.com and plan to make a deposit within the next week or two. I really like the site as I have played a few freerolls and played some micro sng's with the winnings.

Today I am still continuing the most ridiculous run I have ever been on playing NL10. The hands won't stop, the juicy tables are plentiful, and the donks are more than willing to hand me their money. I played only a very short session so far today (maybe no more than 60 hands) because one table broke down quickly and I cleaned out the two donks on the other. I was up 1 1/2 buyins again. I managed one nice sized pot when I hit a flush while drawing to straight and flush draws. After that pot I continued to play aggressive against the fish at the table and then took another nice pot with KK......
$15 Pot w/ KK
I wish I could have looked for new tables to play but unfortunately it's time to get ready for work. I work a short shift tonight so there should be plenty of more cards to come. Hopefully I can keep up my 26 ptBB/100 win rate. LOL. Rakeback came in last night right before I went to bed.

Wow.....I've possibly been running as hot as ever. I have made a few good plays here and there. Thing is, I've managed to pull a 1-outer, catch AA 7+ times, hit a backdoor royal flush, and flop top set countless times in the past two days. This is the first time in recent memory my cards haven't seemed to be arctic. I have taken only a couple rough beats but with the hands I've been catching I can't complain. Since the 30th of September I am up 5 Buy-ins over only 1200 hands. That plays out to about 20 ptBB/100 hands. Ship It. Rakeback should be coming in the next couple days and will bump me up another few buy-ins. I've gotta stay focused, NL25 could be in my future before the end of the year.
On another note, I signed up for an account on Carbon Poker. I've played the freerolls just trying to get a feel for the site. I really like the program overall. Only problem is that PokerTracker doesn't support it. Big problem if I wanna multi-table cash games.

Today I was up 1 1/2 buyins after only playing about 90 minutes. I feel like I'm playing well once again. I have gotten plenty of sleep lately and I think it contributed to my solid play. I have also focused on separating my personal life from the poker tables and it helps a lot. Poker gives me a chance to get away from things and really focus on something I love. Anyway... I was on quite a hot streak of cards today and I played at some juicy tables but I don't feel like I should take all the credit away from my play. I would never have been ahead if I wasn't playing good poker. Now for a couple hand histories.....
This was one of the first hands I played... I decided right away that I would snatch up every pot I could...I wasn't about to be pushed around....

Here is a hand to prove I was running good....Thought I just got outdrawn...but...not so fast!

Once again I have another disappointing poker moment to post in the first week of my blog. I arrived home at midnight once again with no homework to do and able to sleep until at least 9:30. I figured that gave me time for an hour or so of poker. The only problem was that I didn't go to bed last night and my tank was running on empty. I told myself months ago that I would never again play when I was too tired. But tonight I figured all would be fine and it was no big deal. My cards ran cold for the half hour I played but I made so many terrible decisions it sickened me. I am truly, utterly embarrassed to post these hand histories... Here is the first hand...

| Happy With A Breakeven Session |

Tonight I arrived home at about 12:30. For the first time in several days my head felt clear and I was dyin to play some poker.
I bought into 4 tables of NL10 and quickly got felted when 1010 flopped a set against my KK. I was afraid that beat for one buy-in early would really hurt my confidence. I reset myself and said....one beat no big deal...and I turned the focus on. I did make one bad call down with KK later when I had just an overpair to the board. I felt he made a bluff and I had to trust my gut....I lost 3/4 of a buy in but I don't regret calling. I'm sorry I didnt post the hand history, I just feel too lazy tonight after writing a 4 page essay. I will start to post hand histories more often so you guys can make some judgments on my style and plays.
Anyway, I battled back for an hour to be up almost one buy-in.

| Played So Bad But Learned A Lesson |
|
|
I arrived at home just after midnight again and decided to multi-table NL10. I hit a few big hands which won me a decent amount but I couldn't stop spewing chips left and right. I wasn't paying attention and making terrible plays all the time. Recently I have learn a vast amount of knowledge of how to use positional aggression at 6-max ring games. My play has been fairly swingy since I have change my style for fairly weak-tight to a much more tight-aggressive style of play. I have now learned a new lesson.
Weak-tight play can earn you a positive win-rate at low levels. Truly tight-aggressive play will earn you much better win rates if played correctly. But to play the tight-aggressive style you must have a focus level much more intense vs. playing weak-tight. When other things are on your mind or when you aren't motivated to play your best poker........DON'T PLAY. I have to remember this from now on.
