Bond18 the author I’ve been kind of adrift for the last few days. I haven’t really been doing much of anything, and I didn’t even bother to play on Sunday for the FTOPS ME. In total, I played a single FTOPS event. I couldn’t really tell you what I’ve done since my last blog entry outside seen some funny movies, had some good meals, and killed time at the beach. The last couple of days I’ve developed a minor cold, but it’s nothing serious. One strange aspect of going through a major break up is you wind up thinking to yourself “Well, now what?” It tends to sap your motivation and in many cases leaves people hiding inside for weeks or months at a time with junk food in one hand and ... Drawing = funny + disturbing. On the book: there's a glut of MTT books out there right now, so it's a very good idea to focus on the entertainment value of the book. Looking forward to it. |
I've read 10 or so poker books and have also read your 'Things it took me a while to learn articles'. In many ways I feel like your articles have helped my game more than any of those books. Many of these books reiterate the basics over and over again, counting outs, pot odds, implied odds, reverse implied odds etc... I hope you skip over that type of stuff in your book because it really puts a reader to sleep. Also, stick to your strengths. You don't play a ton of cash games, so maybe just don't talk about it, see green book and blue book or whatever the second one was, phil gordon is obviously horrible at cash (poker?) yet felt he should write an entire book about it. Ways to add content, instead of adding a **** load of trivial boring hand examples, I think some stories of some funny or important hands with your thought process (serious and not) would be great. Good luck |
As you know, I stole a ton of stuff from you for my SNG piece. I found the original series you wrote to be laden with info, interesting to read, and, at first, quite confusing. Not sure I can contribute anything other than my "noobness" but I'd be happy to read anything you like and offer suggestions for clarifications from a "still a donkey" perspective. Brann |
You should be eating the poptart in your right hand. The left hand is like a stranger. |
With the mountain of books out there all based on live poker a book that was more relevant to online poker would be awesome. Not that some of the books relating to live poker aren't any good, I just think that a lot of them are just simply outdated or regurgitated. Good luck Tony I'm already hanging for the release. |
