Get Rich or Die Trying
Started over today with online poker by loading 190 onto stars. School is over and got tired of playing live games (too slow, competition is cake compared to online though). The main reason I don't like playing live is because I love 6max/HU games online. I started with the 6 dollar hu turbo SNG's then worked up to the 11's pretty quickly. I bought into two of the 22 hu mtt's and lost in the 3rd round on the first one, and lost in the 4th round on the 2nd one (cashing for 40 bucks). I started to 4 table the 11 dollar heads up games and single tabling the 23's. The bankroll is sitting at 473.55 right now. Im sticking with 20 buy in's t play at a level. I did start playing the 23's a little early, but it worked out. Right now I am rolled (20 buy in's) for the 23's. If I run good early I want to stay at this level until I hit at least 700 preferably 800 before I move up to the 34.50's.
Last summer I worked two jobs in AC. I got a lot of points for calling out at my current job (dealing at borgata) and it just didn't look good. So I decided to ditch the other beach job this summer and stick with dealing 3-5 days a week and playing online. Probably won't start playing live again til July/August. June 5th-20th is the Borgata summer open so im hoping to deal everyday and make 2-3k. My main goals right now are to stay within my bankroll obviously. Other then that im going to try to hit 1k by Sunday. I might play a little 50nl 6max when I get to 600+, but playing nitty.
The main problem with my HU game right now is trying to force chips to my stack, running fancy bluffs on the wrong players, and not letting the game come to me. Things are a lot different at these levels the the 110+ sng's that im used to. A lot of those sng's were playing some of the best players on stars/sharkscope and the level of play im at right now is a lot different. Adjusting to call stations that are running good was always a leak in my game, especially when tilting. For now im going to try to take bluffs out of my game. I lost both matches in the 22 hu mtt by running bluffs on a missed OEFD and a flush draw.
Had 2,250.95 left in my account, lost a 2, 250 HU SNG. So I have .95 cents left. But its ok, stars let me know right after the lose that I acheived platinum star! Taking a lil time off I guess, go celebrate and stuff.
Been on a nice run playing the 115's. Got my sharkscope down to 3, 690 and I need to rack up a little over 1k in fpp's. I played a lot yesterday, sometimes one tabling, sometimes 4 tabling. The main thing I noticed was my record vs. players with a very high ROI or on a leaderboard on sharkscope for their heads up play were my easiest matches. I was having problems with the worst players on sharkscope. Only because I did not adapt to how they play. You can't bluff a fish, and in HU SNG it's tough to even continuation bet without a hand. You can value bet deuces on these oppenents most of the time. But betting with air is -EV vs. these clowns and there is no reason to semi bluff draws at all. They pay you off anyway so hit them as cheap as you can.
The bankroll is up to 2900. I lost in the 2nd round of the 215 HU tourney and played a couple 55 dollar MTT's. I played well in the HU tourney and lost 2 races in the same match = can't win vs. a good player. I think im going to play against next weekend. I like playing good players, it will only make me better. I also feel like I used to be afraid of playing the best players, they lose games too..... A big portion of the field was also MTT reg's who don't know how to play HU optimally.
Really sick but I think im playing in it today, taking a shot. Have over 2300 in the roll, and won 21/22 HU SNG games, 8 of them were not turbo's though. What a heater!!!! Will let you know how it goes
lil over 1250, won 8 matches in a row plus 9 or 10 34$ HU SNG in a row = I am on fire and celebrating. Bank roll is up to 2100 :) The players in this tourney were very tight/weak when the blinds were 25/50 up.
