What A Cardroom !!!

This is a GREAT Poker Room !!! I truly felt like I was at home in my own game room. Everyone seems to know everyone, and there is an excellent feeling of "friends & family" there.

The room was very comfortable, with plenty of cushioned chairs, and drink tables for all. The tables were a good size, leaving everyone with ample room and playing space. I spent a great deal of time in this poker room, and was able to play all the games offered. There was always a 3/6 limit hold'em w/kill game going, livest 3/6 I've ever played in! I normally hate this game, but truly had a ton of fun playing it in this club! Great action, and live players! They spread a 4/8 Omaha on certain nights. The Blackjack table was open all the time and seemed to always be loaded with players having a good time. The Pai Gow table was fun and offered limits low enough for the regular joe, and high enough for the seasoned player. The club offered three types of spread limit games throughout the week on various nights. There was a 4 to 100 w/200 max buy, a 5 to 200 w/500 max buy, and, my most favorite of all, a 10-200 w/ no max buy. Of all the games they offered, I played the 10-200 spread limit the most. It was by far the best spread limit game I've ever played in. The field of players were quite mixed in play style, making for an excellent game. There seemed to always be an even mix of tight players, live players, and those we refer to as "wide-open". The 10-200 game was being spread on Tues, Thurs, Fri, and Sun nights. Game usually started around 7pm and filled up fast, lasting thoughout the night and into the following morning. Lots of great action, and fun people to play cards with.

The dealers and floor staff were great. The entire staff was extremely polite and always made sure I was enjoying myself. I was shocked to find out that there were several dealers there that had been there 10+ years. That, in and of itself says something about the place. The floormen were very knowledgeable in all table decisions I witnessed, and the cardroom manager was always avaible to answer questions.

The food at the club was spectacular! There is a full bar and restaurant on site. The poker room menu offered a huge variety of food with great discounted rates. The full restaurant menu was also available to me in the poker room as well. The poker room waitress/waiter staff was incredible. I am one of those sick, gotta have a cup of coffee in my hands at all times kinda guy. My coffee cup was never empty, nor did I ever have to ask for a refill after the first time. Every time I turned around to pick up my cup, it was full. After placing my name on the wait list the first time, it seemed like every employee knew my name! I couldn't ask for a more pleasant and personal poker room experience because I don't think it could exist out there. I've played in a lot of poker rooms, up and down the State of California, this little place is now on the top of my list. I will definately be visiting this poker room again on future trips to the Central Valley.

I've never taken the time to actually give my thoughts on a poker room before, but after the experience I had at the Clovis 500 Club, I couldn't pass up the opportunity to send back a little praise to the club and staff for a truly superb experience.
