PLO can make you feel like the greatest poker player in the world and then the next session make you feel like the worst. I was going to post some losing hands from the nice heater I had but didn't get around to it as I have been playing alot the past few days. Unfortunately my results have been very poor with me losing 450k. In one session I played great, and really brought my A+ game but managed to lose 350k. The session from two days ago I wasn't playing great and was on my C+ game and lost another 100k.

I was up about 1.5 million on the year and it really sucks to lose 1/3 of that in two days. I am not very happy about it and I hope I turn it around soon.

I do know one thing I am very confident that I am going to have really great results in these 200/400 PLO games. I just hope they keep running.

I have been playing alot of 200/400 PLO over the past few days. I am down about 40k in that but up 30k from all play in that time. I felt really comfortable the past few days even with the massive swings. Two days ago I started off playing and won 180k in about 30 min. I then proceeded to lose 250k over the next few hours. Today's session was the exact opposite. I started off stuck about 120k and battled back to +120k. Then I lose a few pots and was going to call it a day when I lost a 100k pot on the final hand of play putting me +30k for the day. Its pretty annoying when that happens but what can you do.

All this PLO action has been great, but its cut into my mixed game time. I am on track to finish the hands that I set out in my goal except for the stud ones. Instead of playing 5k hands of stud I am going to just play 5k hands of mixed games.

I played a bit of 200/400 PLO today and won 40k in my morning session and 13k in my evening one. I played two short sessions and quit after 30min both times. I felt like I wasn't playing my best and wasn't as focused as I should be. I think my last session where I dropped 250k in 300 hands had an effect on me. I usually don't get bothered by losses but for some reason today I just couldn't manage to play even though games are great.

The last couple of days have been great for me winning alot. I have done very well and am up about 100k which helps since that 250k downswing. Here are some of the hands over the past few days.

This morning I woke up to find 4 tables of 100/200 with an ante running on FTP. I sat and got crushed for 230k in 300 hands. I could not win a hand for the life of me. The game was playing so aggressively and so big that its not to surprising to lose that much. This loss makes me even for the month. I think I played well in the game, I probably just 4 bet some more marginal hands which caused for some tough postflop decisions deep.

Later today I will go over the hands again, but I think I played fine. Some of my 4 bets may have been to loose, but its hard to 4 bet people to much with value hands that are three betting relentlessly.

Two nights ago I played some live poker. I wasn't going to play much but there was a good 500/500 game running and I felt like playing. After losing 600k in 4 days at the end of last month I took some time off live poker. It was nice to play again and I ended up winning 15k in about 3 hours of play. The game broke when some players started a similar game at a differently table. I didn't feel like moving tables and dealing with a redraw so I just booked the small win. I didn't really play any big pots, I just won some small ones.

The WSOP didn't go well for me as I was busted early in day two when I shoved over an aggressive Italians open with Q9s. It was too loose but I was short and wanted to double up or bust out. I didn't really make any hands for the two days and it seemed like every time I c-bet I was called. I didn't even bluff, and there was one time in the two days where I fired the 2nd barrel with air. I think I played well and just didn't have any hands and ran into my opponents hands.


As for poker this month I am doing really well winning 215k 9 days in to the month. I am up 195k in PLO, but unfortunately I am down 10k at 25/50 PLO. I really wanted to have a winning month in PLO but I can't beat 25/50 for the life of me. Then I just run insanely hot at 50/100+ limits. I dunno what I can really do differently and I really shouldn't be complaining. I feel like I am playing really well at 25/50 this month while I may not have the past few months.

I mean I guess I can fold the river, but its like 4.6k to win 21k.

I really shouldn't complain as its much better to run like god above 50/100 then the other way around. Its just so strange because I couldn't beat 50/100 PLO for the life of me for 6 months, and now I can't lose there. And I used to crush 25/50 and now I am not winning there. What else is strange is the 50/100 games are noticeably tougher than the 25/50 ones. The jump is really massive.



The rest of my goals are going well. I have put in 4.3k hands of O8 this month so I am right on pace for the 10k hands I want to play. I have been wining there and am up 3k, which is good since I lost at 100/200 and 75/150 when I played there. I think I can beat those games right now, even though I am a long way away from being a great O8 player.

The Stud and Stud 8 hands aren't coming along as well. I have only played a few hundred hands this month and wanted to play 5k.

So of these four goals:

1) Play 10k hands of limit O8, no higher than 50/100
2) Play 5k hands of Stud or Stud 8
3) Watch of make a video from on of the mixed games everyday.
4) have a winning month at 25/50 PLO

I am doing well in one and three. I am way behind in two and stuck 10k in four. So I think 1,3, and 4 are very doable, I just have to start playing some stud consistently. If I go 3/4 on my goals this month I would be happy.



And finally I played some limit holdem this month just to stay fresh. I saw a really good game and wanted to keep in practice for the 7 and 8 game rotations. I won 17k in a few hundred hands. I only have one hand to post but the king high call is a nice one (probably very standard to most limit players, but I was proud of it)!
