Turningstone $500 6max updates

Well the last few days I've been not playing much I kind of welshed on my goal for TLB early when I decided I would be heading to turningstone for their small 5 days of events. Nothing huge but a few friends heading there as well as dead time in the week prior to heading back to Europe. I had good success in the first even getting my 10k starting stack up to 35k before antees 5th level kicked in. For the levels I was there for the new structure was amazing big thanks to pete the tourney director who is probably the person responsible for the levels added. Anyway I get moved to a new table featuring randallin and a few weak players early on play a weird hand where I raise a guys turn lead when we were both very deep and he did a small 3bet in a big pot. I folded and wanted to get that guy back.

I had a terrible laggy/bad image at my table keep getting played back at with no hands to show for it. I then make it 825 in MP with A4s guy to my left instafires out 6 yellow 500 chips I get the feeling he's really weak never calling a shove so I stick it in. He asks for a count then's like whatever here it's yours I rake in the pot and notice in the corner of my eye when I show the 4c he nearly fell out of his chair. I am laughing and randall shoots me a grin as he's the 1 seat and I am in his direct view in the 6 seat. Anyways I get 0 hands and blind down raise/call a shove getting 2 to 1 and other standard hands till I have 15k at 250/500/50 awesome addition level that was there. I make it 1300 otb with AKo with 17k stack BB was tight and short at 6k SB was the guy I 4bet earlier he instasticks in his stack of bigchips like 10k enough to put me allin. I snapcall about to be saddened when he shows me 44 and luckboxed into a flip instead I am quite happy to see AQo guy just spazzed out for all my chips until the dealer feels bad for him and gives him a 3 outer on the flop so he wouldn't get short.

I then was up latenight played in a 300 max game for an orbit won 500 and then moved to a 1k max game and doubled after an hour to 2k on a hand I was totally in the blind and got called by worse on my flop shove and then bleed down to like 1k before getting in a few bad pots and this one I am unsure off. I've been opening half the pots at the table and def not playing my Agame but its 5am and I am just bored. Anyway I make it 30 with AKo and 850 stack guy flats who usually does it a guy with 204 behind squeezes to 100 he's been tight but bleed his 500 buyin down folding a lot and I felt was ready to gamble with anyone to make a good score/comeback in the game. BB tanks asks how much button has behind he said 104 BB then makes it 204 I'm like wow I could get this HU a lot and BB has to fold JJ and possible QQ/AKo for another 650 so I ship it in he quietly says I call and asks if I have Aces which means he has kings sigh I am like I have 3 outs till I see the button spread his aces across the table I flop 0 hope on a 1086 board turn a Qbut no river for anypart of the pots. I endup going to bed at like 730 and skipped the 10am starting time and slept all day.

For tomorrows event I will be sending in voicemails at each break hopefully that I'm still in and giving updates and info for a bit of love reporting

-EV moves = +EV moves (sometimes)

Here's a post I made on 2+2 earlier today felt like I never give you guys any real strategy I swear sometime this week I will get a PXF handhistory up of something interesting.

I spent many hours today trying to explain this stuff to a student today about the one part of tourneys I've experienced and couldn't prove because the math is too intensive. This is a lot of gigablock theory/optimal stack ideas theory included, I know many of you disagree with the block theory but it's correct in many complex ways.

Basically the jist of it is this example.

Say I have have a 15bb stack at the middle stages of a tourney and the stacks to my direct left are effectively this 20bbs,10,15,20,25,30,35,40,45 , and say the player to my left is an aggro solid player who will give me fits is too my left the other players are no where as good as as him or me we are def first and 2nd in skill at the table.

Given these stack sizes if I knew I could get it in vs the guy on my left 100% of the time as a 45% dog I would take it each time without any dead money or anything. So 45% of the time I have 30bbs and 55% I bust,

I will not argue that in an ICM model my chip value would have doubled directly due to that hand we all know that.

But i will tell you my hypothetical chip accumulating per orbit amount will skyrocket from where it was in the previous example. And I will earn back the 2.5bbs or whatever edge I gave up in that 45%flip by having a much more profitable situation every time it's folded to me in any spot. In a few orbits as long as table doesn't break I will be putting myself in more and more profitable situations with my chips where I can play more hands for a larger edge. When I would of been handcuffed to playing tight without the double. Thus increasing the chances of me winning because each orbit I am gaining way more chips then I would if I didn't take that 45% flip.

Back in Troy

Well after a great week in Boston at mikes house I finally went home for the first time in almost 6 months being home for more then a week. It's still a really short stay in a week and a half I plan on heading to turning stone on Friday to play in a few events. I also plan on finishing up my TLB goal for the week. It's been quite some time since I won weekly on stars haven't made an effort for it since the last time I won. I feel that I can easily win once I devote a full 6 days of grinding in massive multi tabling on the desktop which I haven't done since prevegas. So expect me to be playing 20+ stars tourney with 5 or so FTP ones sprinkled in.

There are many reasons for me to be doing this it should be a lot of fun as long as I win. Then I will be content even if I am down a few k or something. This should give me enough to secure yearly TLB as a few people are attempting to make late runs at me but as in a marathon they showed themselves too soon and I will get a 3k lead on them in the next 10 days and they will give up. Knowing full well that if necessary I am winning yearly if I have to play everyday I can and every tourney I can till end of year. Hopefully for my sake it doesn't get to that spot but I'm sure many of you will enjoy knowing m working my ass off in 180s even after my recent big buyin success.

Also had a lot of good wafflecrush success in the past few weeks had a solid showing in the 10k at FW where 3/9 cashed and 1 of them got as far as 19th before losing a stupid flip post flop vs the donk who ended up winning. Note he was redic lucky to be in a race given the situation but whatever he has 1.7mil and a WPT ring or whatever when the better players get screwed. Great for the game seeing a donk card rack his way to millions cuz those viewing know they prob had a better shot than him going into the tourney.

Also heading to France the 7th of December then prague the 10th for EPT with Andy should be a good time. Finaly got my yankee hat from him only took like 2months for me to be reconnected with it. I haven't seen it but my brother was commenting on how badly it smelled and I figure thats from 4 years of my fat face sweating underneath it as well as being stuck in a package box for 2 months as it gets shiped from London to Vegas to NY and a few random stops in between. So I'll stop looking like thayer thankfully and be back to my normal backwards hat ways

The diaries of a wafflecrusher

Well sorry for being so delayed in updates I had some problems with getting the HH from stars so I maybe using a different tourney for a hand history in the near future. Have a lot of things to bring up but I'll be brief in most of them.

Wafflecrush has been going great now this last week raking up close to 300k in cashes from our horses in some huge runs that didn't even get up to potential. Feels great to be winning money and giving close friends/sick players the chance to play the highest buyins with 0 fear at any point. I expect to be picking up more horses soon but don't PM me or bug me at the table or any wafflecrusher. I got my eye on the next batch and in talks with a few as it is.

I spent the week at Foxwoods did nothing in any of the tourneys build stacks then went card dead when it mattered in every tourney. Got ugly but I did well online since then.

I've made a bunch of FTs lately 100fo which I took down for 12k. AP 1k where I got 3rd for 12k 20r stars a few middle buyin ft tourneys with a win and a few middle finishes.

I'm in Boston for the week at my buddy Mike's house who just got 5th in FTOPS last night. His prior best score was like 2500 so 55k is quite the jump.

I am heading to France the 7th of December then going to Prague for the EPT the 10th. Anyone got good ideas what to do leave a comment.

1st is the worst, 2nd is the best, thayer's the one with the hairy chest

So I wanted to toss something up quick prior to the post with my 1k HH from my recent 2nd place in the Stars Super Tuesday tourney. I took down close to 55k with the score and followed it up with another 2nd in the night hundred grand aka stuper. That tourney for the longest time has been the thorn in my side. I was down close to 12k in it with only 13k in buyins. I got a huge stack early into the money and then coasted till 2 tables left where I lost a 400k pot when avg stack was about 100k with QQ vs AA in a spot I can't avoid. I was down to 120k chips 2 hands later blinds moved upto 3k/6k guy 3xed in MP I was in co with 88 and shoved having him barely covered. He snap called with JJ I flopped an 8 and was back to a wafflecrushable stack. I played pretty snug won a huge flip to busrt the finaltable bubble and enter it with a 900k stack. 2nd place had 550k and was on the other table and timed out last hand before break. He was seated to my left at the finaltable and the 3rd place stack had about 220k. This makes for interesting dynamics and I was super active and got to 4 handed in a dogfight with the guy still sitting out . I went from CL to shorty to 3rd for a while then 2nd as the shorty busted. 3 handed lasted for a while I went card dead keep getting 3bet 4bet once with A9s the best hand I had when he 3bet he had A9o we chopped. He eventually busted to the CL I had a 3 to 1 chip disadvantage and never was able to mount a comeback and lost a flip to end it K9<44 he had a set I had a fd on the flop. 16k wasn't bad and quite happy to finally be up lifetime in that tourney

I also spent part of last week in Niagra where I didn't do anything got to 30k gave away my stack in an orbit and a half making 2 bad moves. Was down to 100 chips at 150/300/50 level after one of the bad moves and shoved next 4 hands and won them all to put me close to 6k. I never got anything going for the next level though and busted shoving 11bbs at a redic 200/400/75 level into JJ.

I also drove to Foxwoods in the morning the night of my 1k 2nd place. Thayer, Billy, and myself all played in the $600 the day we got here. Play was soooo bad. My starting table no one could beat playmoney tables I got really tilted by their redic bad table talk. I was also on 20 hours no sleep and a big win and a tourney I wasn't motivated for. Played suped lag vs the live nits got a big stack before losing a 30k pot when avg was 5k when I had 1 out and rivered it but the other guy already hit a higher set. Was a goofy hand and hard to describe in a few words.

I am planning on waking up in 3 hours to play the 1500 at the woods again so hopefully another big score to report.

US Poker Bowl update: One and out.

Ok, so I miss the first couple of hands of the tournament but whatever, we're starting with 10k and 50/100 blinds.

I sit down and my first hand tmay opens UTG for 250. I'm UTG + 1 with KK so I call. It's folded to Theo Tran in the cut-off who bumps it another 600. Folds back to me, I call.

Flop is A87. I check. He bets 750. I call.

Turn is a K...nice...but puts another flush draw on the board. I check and he bets 1350. I check-raise to 3500. He calls.

River is A. I shove and he asks me "You all in?" Uh, yeah. "Ok, I call." and shows quad aces. Go, team.

*EDIT* In a sick twist, on the very next hand, tmay got it all-in pre-flop with KK v AA and busted.

Caesars $1500 prelim event

So I left my house quite later as we overslept a bit, and made it to the airport less then 30minutes before our scheduled departure. We are told there is a delay due to weather. So we are waiting around and findout a flight prior to ours was supposed to leave 4 hours before ours and they never left yet. So I get worried book another slightly later flight until we hear we can board the plane now. Anyways we make it fine to our connecting flight and make it in time to sadly see the Sox win again. Get some sleep before waking up to play the $1500. I walk in see ZBTHortan talk to him for a bit before registering. I get to my starting table pretty sure everyone sucks really badly at my table and all tables. Get quite happy seeing the field at each table. Sit in raise my first hand a few limpers which became a reoccurring theme. I get my starting stack of 3500 to about 8k as break 2 hours in then the last hand before break this happens. old guy limps UTG means nothing I can outplay him all day so I decided to raise any 2 OTB. I find my favorite hand pops up 78sdd make it 225 he is only caller. Flops 9d 7s 6s I get all excited he checks I make it 350 he makes it 1850 with 3500 behind avg stack was still like under 4k so this was a bigish stacks. I tank and shove he calls after 30 seconds. I go I have a lot of outs. Then he shows me Q8o no diamonds or spades.

About this time I hear some guys voice yell hey tedsfishfry from the table behind me where fatalerror is playing at. I turn around and jon points to this guy at his table and is like hey this is the guy you coolered for 3rd in the 1k. I chat for a bit with the guy whose a mid 30s live pro. We talk about a few hands he asks me what I had on the stop and go hand vs him I told him A6o he was like wow I folded A8o. I laughed a lot inside about that one. He was a nice guy def a solid player but had many of the standard live leaks online.

I get all excited that I will have close to 4x starting stack in the first 2 hours. Until the turn rolls off the dry Q. I look saddened and I don't resuck for even the chop. I am down to like 2k chips. Eat some lucky pizza come back 2nd hand back. 2 old reg limpers the next youngest kid makes it 5x I plan on shoving a lot of hands with my 2.5k stack at 50/100. I find 44 instaship it in he instacalls with AKo when it gets to him I flop a set. I am now up a bit over 5k. I open after a few limpers again and steal twice 3rd hand same limpers I find AKdd and raise again this build overaggro guy who thinks he makes great reads calls 450 more in the BB, the limpers all fold flops 10s 3x 2s he leads 400 into me I call pretty quickly. Turns a 2 which puts a 2nd flushdraw on the board which I don't have. hHe flings a 1k chip into the pot I call pretty quickly rivers a blank 3 and he fires 1200 and I call and he says nicecall and tables KQo. He is shocked I called him down with ace high. Whole table is stunned I am crushing it again. fatalerror moves to my right we have some fun. I chip back down to 6k at 100/200 open AJo otb to 525 BB this middle aged asain makes it 1725 it's his 3rd 3bet of me I folded the first 2 I shove pretty quickly he calls with A10o and it bricks off and I double. Get a table change to a new table 2nd hand there raise AKo utg+2 this young looking calls 1072r flop I bet 800 on the flop into like 1500. he calls turns an offsuit 8 I bet 2k he calls pretty quickly rivers 3x I bet 4k with like 2k behind online I shove there but live and this keys appearance I was 100% sure he snapcalls a shove but is scared shitless of this valuebet sizing he ends up folding I show to mess with head.

He starts messing with me when I open so I tighten up. This wild guy who keeps c/raising other people at the table opens to 700 at 100/200 with an antee in MP I 3bet AJo in SB to 2100 . I am unsure how deep he is but I esitmate it's under 10k flop comes KdJx4d I have AdJx I check to him he bets 2500 I make it 6k he shoves I see its only 1500 more call and hope to see only KQo. Instead he shows 810dd and I fade it. I am now over 30k and one of the biggest stacks in the tourney with 60 left and 27 paid. move to anotehr table first hand there see an UTG+1 minraise and I am next to act I make it 2500 at 200/400 with AJo because I came to table with a lot of chips knew 2 of the players devo and fellow wafflecrusher thayer. guy calls flop is 843 with 2 spades I have none he checks I bet 3500 he snap calls I get worried and decide Im done I turn the As he checks I check behind rivers an offsuit J. he checks i bet 12k and he calls after 20seconds and I say top 2 and he slamms his QQ on the table and is short. He busts thayers resteal when he wakes up KK and thayer can't 2 out him. So at the time I have 45k and everyone is chasing me next best at table is under 15k. I don't get much going keep my same stack. Get to a tougher table with a few people I've met before and we exchange chips till we break with 4 tables remaining and them paying 3 tables. I have like 50k now avg is around 30k. I coast around abuse the bubble bit but can't get past the 50k hump. We draw as the money bursts our whole 6 handed table stays there but exchange seats. I open 77 OTB BB flats and says most people would raise him here. I am not sure to believe him flop comes AA10R I feel he will play back with a lot of his range check behind. Turns a 2 puts a flushdraw out there he fires like 5k into a 8k pot I call rivers a 3 completes bd flush he fires 6k I call and he shows 54 for the backdoor wheel. I play another bad spot isolating a limper with some trash hand cbet and the bb c/raises me and I fold. I am down to like 30k I know I appear to be really tilting so tighten up. I find KK in LP an orbit ago make it 3k at 600/1200 BB who is same guy who c/r earlier. flops QJ7 with a flushdraw he checks I bet 4500 he shoves I snapcall. He shows Q10o turn 10x the card that gives me lots of resuck hope but I whiff and end up getting 23rd for like 500$ profit.

I end up heading out to this awesome bar called halfshell with vivek, thayer, devo, and jon. It was a good time I was exposed to golden tee propbets and profited almost 200 for my first time playing. I get the feeling that game will end up causing a lot of fun in the near future with betting etc. I tried to wakeup for the 2k the next day and missed play online the day instead and am getting ready for pokerbowl. I am exited for that we play monday at 5 pm western time updates will be on cardplayer.com I am on SanDiego, I am going to try to send text updtates to the editors of this site to do live updating on it for you guys on me personally.

FTP $1k Final Table -- my biggest live score to date

Just got to the final table of tonight's FTP $1k. For a change, I'm going to write this report as I play. Wish me luck!

I had the CL going into 2 tables a really bad laggy player to my left hit vs me every pot for 4 straight pots to knock me down. I had to nit it up cuz I got 0 real hands after that. Anyways came to final table 9/9, and started to write this up with some interesting hands.

I had 40k at break with blinds going upto 2500/5000/600 folded 84o in SB after it got raised then had this really interesting hand. I think this is a great spot to sng.

Full Tilt (9 handed)

Preflop: Hero is SB with A, 6. Hero posts a blind of 2500.
6 folds, Button raises to 15000, Hero (poster) calls, 1 fold.

Flop: 5, Q, 2 (2 players)
Hero bets 18069 (All-In), Button folds.

Final Pot:

No showdown. Hero wins

I fold a few more hands someone else gets knocked out so 8 remaining. I shove KJs with 11bbs in the HJ and 2 hands later fold A10s with my 13bb stack.

A few more folds I shove 88 with 14bbs UTG+2 pretty standard.

Here was a really interesting spot I considered squeezing but changed my mind last second:

3k/6k, 750 ante... I'm in SB with A J

Seat 1: BLAKE39 (102,614)
Seat 2: RAZER2007 (89,464) BUTTON
Seat 3: tedsfishfry (89,469)
Seat 5: DEEEPANL (245,709)
Seat 6: reena97 (53,582)
Seat 7: allinsi (194,622)
Seat 8: U_2Good4_Me (235,540)

allinsi raises to 17,500
U_2Good4_Me calls 17,500
tedsfishfry folds

Folded to me OTB with 70k at 3/6k/750 I shoved KJo next hand with a bit over 82k I shoved A7o got folds both times

Fold an orbit shove OTB with KJs for 84k at same blind level.

Guy got knocked out in a blind battle 6 left gaurenteed 16.8k which means this is my largest online score to date.

Blinds went up to 4k/8k/1000, I shove AQo utg with 90k

Fold a few hands get 77 in the BB CO opens to 3x I shove for 12x bbs at same blind level he calls with AQs 1063J6 board.

UTG opens for 22k with 130k behind I shove with 44 he tanks and folds
next hand utg opens for 3x with 17x behind I fold55.

Button has been getting more active and he opens 3x otb with 21x stack I reshove with Q10s to gain the CL

Not getting much whole tabling shoving a lot with 10-15bbs I am CL with 21bbs I open 99 in CO everyone folds.

Lot's of folding for me still CL with 21bbs not getting much to open and I am not opening lite in these spots

umm lol been on such a high not from drugs last 15minutes forgot to do updates I 500k 3 handed 2nd has 300k other guy has 180k

On break again 434k to 318k and 257k got 40k locked up

I was asked on break whether or not I wanted to chop I said no thank you. I am going to win by coolering one of you, sucking out on the other because I'm running too good today to lose.

KK>1010 a little while later we both had sets/rivered boats too. Then after a grueling HU match I won with j10>KJo AIPF when I had a 4 to 1 CL and he had 9bbs.

Won almost 85k in the tourney that is bigger then my next 4 scores combined!!!

Life on the Road

Well, the ALDS really sucked being such a die hard Yankee fan. As soon as I got to Cleveland the bad run continued. The first flight I had booked got canceled so I had to book a non direct flight through philly. My frst flight was about an hour delayed and myself and a few others on that plane were all going to Cleveland. So I figured we would get our luggage. They did I didn't, I headed to the hotel and met up with ray and thayer was a perfect location 2 minutes walking distance from Jacob's Field. We play the nightlys all run bad and my suitcase gets there at like 1am. We getup drive to Adam Junglens house like 30minute away because thats where ray had the tickets shipped and he forgot them there when leaving the day before. We drink a few beers get to the game not sure what to expect being all decked out in Yankee gear. We get to our seats which are upper deck but 2nd row of seats and in between home plate and 3rd base so a great view. Anyways a few Yankee fans are splattered around our section and I notice 2 of the 4guys directly in front of us are Yankee fans while their buddy's aren't. Anyways this one little 4 foot 8 Guido type guy is cheering etc and that's fine but after the first inning home run initially got called off he started saying sit down etc to the cheering Yankee fans. Then the call gets reversed and we cheer and high five some and then he stars saying shit to the guy to his left whose a Yankee fan. They are first row right on the railing no less and the Yankee fan and his brother as we findout later whose an Indians fan almost get into it right there. At this time I am expecting to be hit with beer get into 3 fights and be kicked out before the relievers get in the game.

But, the next 2 games besides the Yanks loosing the Indian fans were quite friendly and got to know a few people seated around us. As always they find our lives so exciting how we travel the world do fun things and basically live life to the fullest. We then headed to Pittsburgh to hangout with Luke who happened to be the guy who busted first hand of WSOP ME with AA to AKs AIPF. It was nicer there then I expected first night in we went to the home opener for the Penguins was a lot of fun, we then headed back and I got my first experience of the new Halo 3 sick sick game can't wait to get my copy of it. We stayed there for a few days played the Sundays then headed to New Jersey to goto Rays house. We were planning on going to Turningstone for the October poker weekend or whatever but I couldn't convince them to get in the car even though I was willing to do the driving. So for now today we are heading to my house for a week I think before I head to Vegas for the Pokerbowl.

I am really looking forward to this tourney have a very strong team featuring; Alex Jacob, Jordan Morgan, Nordberg, Jhub3000, Thayer, and myself. The structure is very similar to WCP so I am excited with this structure that I am familiar with. The event is going to be Televised on Fox Sports Net in the near future so I'll be sure to let you guys know a few days in advance when you want to be sure you are watching our team San Diego Players. Not my choice on location or team name but whatever we are going to win and def have the strongest team in our conference. I'll try not to be so slow on next update always get lazy at end of sessions when I want to write a blog.

Let's go Yankees

Well it's been nice being back home for a whopping 3 days, and now I am leaving again. I am heading to Cleveland to watch the Yankees dominate the Indians in the ALDS. Heading down there with fellow wafflecrushers thayer and exitonly(ray). I am unsure of what I am going to do after that prob play sundays at someones house maybe actually hit a big score. I plan on going to the Canterbury classic coming up and then Niagara after that. I really see the difference way more now being back home after being away. After college I felt like I saw different things but traveling around Europe you see how the other half lives. I am intrigued to travel more the next few years as exploring different countries is something I enjoy.

I am picking up a lot of students this week for this month. I expect to have 15-20 when it's all said and done. I love coaching and it's something that as I improve at doing it will help me understand my thought process from the basics better then prior. Also, it's great to know when you are the key component to someone being successful helps the ego etc esp if I am running bad I know my concepts and game plan will work longterm because it's working for others. I have maybe 2-3 spots left for anyone interesting to PM me here or something to discuss not sure on this sites policy yet since I am so new.

My trucks been stranded in Boston since Barcelona and I really hate not having it in NY. I been stuck driving my sisters piece of shit sonata while she's at school since that's the only free car. I tried not to use it because I didn't trust it last night oh how I found out why. I was driving doing a few hello/goodbyes before leaving again and then the radio starts shutting on and off. Seems like no big deal no one drives the car the battery just needs to get rejuiced driving around. I proceed to drive another half mile then the whole dashboard goes off no speedometer no nothing. Car stars jerking really badly I pull into a firehouse call my dad say come pick me up this car sucks. He says try to drive it home and hands the phone to a cousin of mine whose a mechanic as the lights shutoff. As I am describing what's wrong I stop at a red light at one of the busiest intersections in the area and try to accelerate and nothing. Sighhhh luckily it was from the steeper side and I rolled my way down to a stop on the other side of the intersection. Had like 3 diff state troopers stop and do different things while I was waiting for AAA. Luckily when I get back from this expedition I'll have my truck back in town.
