Default Results! Thanks to this site

I learned to play poker by using all of the information that this site has to offer, and by reading books. I have been playing for 3 months ! The administrators of this site have taught me well. So far I have won 1st place in the Big Buck on Paradise and just yesterday, took 15th place in the Party Poker Escalade Giveaway contest...........2200 entrants! A nice payout. I have also made final table in more than a few other tourneys. I am really not blowing my own horn, I just love poker!! THANKS FOR EVERYTHING TWO RAGS.COM.

The books I read were Harrington VOL 1&2 and Phil Gordons Little Green Book. My cash game is really coming along and I will be posting results. Stay tuned!

What resources on this site would that be? I'd really like to utilize this site more and some direction on it would be great.

Read the blogs, the articles, experiment with the EValuator for starters. Adanthar, nath and Bond18 are all accomplished tournament players.

Adanthar covers a number of topics including betting and timing tells, satellite play, hand reading, etc.

Bond18 describes a number of tournament situations in his entertaining blog posts

One of the hardest things for intermediate players to come to grips with is variance. This article sorts it out...

Then, of course, I fire out a gem every so often like...

and

Finally, a tool that doesn't get enough use on this site, the EValuator, is great for figuring out and understanding a variety of call/don't call scenarios. You should check it out!

Hope this helps.

Edmond

That is fantastic!

I have the Little Green Book myself and have really profited from reading it. It comes highly recommended from this observer.

Default A Great Book

I just finished up Angel Largay's book, No Limit Texas Holdem: A Complete Course. It's not truly a complete course, but he plans on writing several more books. This is actually written for low limit NLHE games w/ a max buyin. If you have a basic knowledge of the game and are looking to transition into live cash games with max buyins, i.e. $1/2 & 2/5NL at a casino, this is the book to read. I'm definitely over 15 poker books read now and this one still provided some great insight and tips that I hadn't found in another book. It's a great read and very to the point. Knowing the strategy differences between tournaments and ring is key to being +EV in your poker career.
