September Results October Goals

Here were my September goals:

1. Play 4K hands
2. Take some shots at $200NL online
3. Play some live poker once again, since my son is born now.
4. Pray Bodog doesn't shut down.

The only goals that I accomplished was #1 and #4 I guess. I never got to 12 BIs for $200NL, so I did not get to take a shot at a higher level this month, but if I can have a couple of good days to start October I should be able to take a couple of shots at $200NL soon.

Ok so here are my results for September and my October Goals

October Goals:
1. Play 4.5K hands online
2. Take a shot at $200NL
3. Win 10+ BIs at which ever level I play regularlly.
4. Play live atleast once.
5. Stop overplaying overpairs.
6. Get online roll to $4K

My PTracker results are about $80 off. I only won $944 this month, which is my new record for online winnings in a month.

My online roll currently sits at $1,730.

Good Luck

How do my stats look? What do I need to work on?.

Played a quick one hour session tonight on Bodog and ended up winning a little over 1 BI. I love when I get lucky.

I play with the button pretty often and we have about the same stats of 18/7/3.

bankROLLIN.......

Ok, I know that it has been a while since I posted, but I have been swamped at work. I recently got promoted to a different job, so the transition has been kind of difficult, but everything will be fine in due time. I know that is not an viable excuse, but all the spare time that I have once I get home is going to either changing diapers, feeding Harper a bottle, watching football and then if I am not dead tired I will play some poker. The most I usually will play on a weekday is about an hour and even then I kind of feel bad, because in my gut I feel like my wife is having to do all the work around the house while I play poker on the internet. It is very difficult adjusting to having someone else around the house that you must take care of every second he isn’t sleeping, but I wouldn’t change that for any amount of money in the world. I love my little man with my whole heart.

I was approached by the one soul who reads my blog and he suggested that I make this blog about something so that it would push me to write more than once or twice every two weeks. I have decided to make this a bankroll building blog. I know that there are so many blogs out there that deal with bankroll building and I am sure that no one wants another one, but guess what. I DON’T CARE. This is my blog and if you don’t want to read it C-YA. I will mostly be blogging about my bankroll and my family from here on out.

I have one pretty simple goal that I will try to accomplish before the year is out. I am going to try my hardest to have a $8-10K bankroll by the time I go to Tunica for the WPT World Poker Open in January 2008. When I am in Tunica during a major tourney, I usually play low limit NL cash games ($1/$2 or $1/$3) and sometimes even dip into the second chance tourneys that are spread every night. I usually go to Tunica with about $1K in my pocket and if I have a bad run in the $1/$2 or $1/$3 game I am usually not able to take shots at the second chance tourneys, mostly because I don’t have enough money in my roll. If I can get my roll to around $8K by January 2008 I will have enough money to withstand variance and play in all the smaller tourneys/satellites that I want.

Once I get to a $5K live bankroll I will move up to $2/$5 NL at my local casino, where I have been wrecking the game since I turned 21. I currently play $1/$2 there and I have been told that the $2/$5 game is even softer. I also hope to win my way into a major live tourney in 2008, but first I got to get this thing I call a bankroll a little higher before I dream of taking down the WSOP in 2008.

My entire online roll of $1,500 is on Bodog and I am currently 3 tabling $100NL. I have about a $1K live roll that I use for live play and home games. In total I currently have $2,500 that I need to turn into $8K by January 2008. Does this sound doable? I will take a shot at $200NL on Bodog once I get to $2400. I know this isn’t bankroll protocol, but I don’t do this professionally, so 12 BIs for a certain level is ok for shot taking IMO. If I ever drop below 10BIs for a certain level I will move down a level.

Tonight I won $20 messing around playing some fixed limit games on Bodog, while playing in a satellite to the $100K, which I didn’t win. My Bodog bankroll currently is at $1,540. Total bankroll is at $2,540 I will update this every day that I play, win or lose.

First Straight Flush!!

I have been playing poker since I was in high school and tonight I finally had a straight flush in a cash game. Talk about the all time action killers. Just take a look at this beauty. My heart fell to the floor when the turn peeled off. The initial raiser said he had the Ac after the hand was over. Did I bet to much on the river or was it ok. Im thinking I should have raised the turn. I just wanted to get a little more value out of such a pretty hand.

Oh I posted a winner tonight in only 150 hands. I just didnt feel like I was on my game for some reason.

Same Ole Same Ole

Well it has been about a week since I have updated. I played a couple session over last weekend. On Friday night Landlord79 and I played some on Bodog together, and I ended up dropping almost 3 buy-ins at $100NL. I just couldn't making the second best hand in NL is a real downer.

On Saturday and Sunday I played a couple of short sessions and ended up winning about 1.5 BIs back, so I actually caught back some of what I lost on Friday night.

I got up early with Harper on Sunday morning while mommy slept, and I sat him in my lap and played while he was resting. I am going to make a poker player out of my little man if its the last thing I do!!!! I played until right about kickoff of the NFL games where I then watched my Saints get drummed by the Tampa Bay Bucs. I don't know what the heck is the deal with the Saints. Sometimes it looks like they don't even want to be on the field and on some days it looks like they could be Super Bowl Champs. The Saint play on MNF this week, and it's crazy that this game is a must win for the Saints. Maybe they will show up for National TV this time.

I am still up around $700 this month from online poker, which is still a record for me. If I can win $1200 total this month, I will be really pumped and next month I will be playing $200NL on Bodog regularly. Wish me luck.

Oh, I am going to New Orleans for a bachelor party the first weekend of October, so if anyone has any advice about the poker down there let me know.

Good Luck

Billy
