wat???

Anyway, if they dont wanna learn let them. People look at poker as just another form of blackjack where they try and hit cards and stuff, nothing you can do to change people who actually WANT to lose.

Its amazing how many people still have the any two cards point of view, not to mention any position. Oh well, I guess we need them to pay our bills.

Space travel and poker.

SixWays I have a friend who likes poker and wants to play all the time but will do nothing to try and improve their game. I'm talking about a person who limps every hand, never raise or reraise. Needless to say they never win any of our local tournaments. The theory of this player is " everyone gets 2 cards, I just need to have the best hand on the river ". I have offered them books and web site addresses to help them out but they never took me up on any of them. Then one night I had a good beer buzz going and told them that poker was like space travel. " What? " So then I had to come up with something to explain my new drunken theory. And this was what I told them.

Your goal in a poker tourney is to make final table and win. The goal of space travel is to get to another universe alive. Well if you just just use a ship to get through space it would take so long that you would die before you got there. Same in a tourney, if you just try to ride along you will blind out or just get busted. So instead of trying to manipulate a object through space you would have to manipulate space around the object. Get it? " No ". Nevermind then. Then they asked me if they could borrow those books (HOH) I was talking about. "No" " why " " cause I think I need to reread them."
