Hmm...let's see if we can figure out what's causing your funk. Can't be work...you get to hang out with Landlord79 all day and who wouldn't like that? Can't be the wife or kid...she's a hottie who's cool with you running in New Orleans and he's a little bad-ass. Can't be poker...you've been the keeper of the LuckBox forever and have what could be the most pristine PT stats I've ever seen. Can't be the social life...Red Fish Grill, Bourbon House, strip clubs, live football...all sounds good to me. Could it be the the team whose helmet serves as your avatar is 0-4 after going to the NFC title game last year? Come on, man...shake it off...you're like 4 for 5!

Everybody goes through a funk BJ, it will pass soon enough. I don't think you are old enough for a mid-life crisis.

Possible diagnosis of your 'funk'. First - too much of anything - including poker can often lead to diminished interest. It usually means you're probably unconsciously in need of stimulation in a different area of your brain. Perhaps you might want to consider either taking up a new sport which will challenge you. It could be something like golf, tennis or even chess. Knitting is a great soother for the blahs. It is easy, relaxing and fun. A scarf is probably the easiest project for starters. You'll get the admiration of your family, work off your funk and be back at the tables with renewed enthusiasm, confidence and great hands (pun intended).

The best thing to do is NOT PLAY POKER for a while. How about working out? That usually helps me, clears the mind and makes me feel better. Just stop playing for a bit UNTIL you WANT to play. That's the key.

I guess I was feeling similarly with all the stuff going on in mine. I didnt play a hand in over a month. When I was ready I played. Don't worry about it, I would just make sure your game is up to speed when you come back (I.E. play some lower stakes or something). GL buddy.

Thanks guys for all the comments. I still havent played any poker and I really am not missing it. Someone said that I should take up golf. I currently am "playing" golf if that is what you call it if you cant even break 100. I really enjoy playing golf and I think I should play more than I do.

There is a 24hr Fitness opening up down the street soon and I might just get my lazy ass into the gym and work off this thing that has attached itselft to my gut region.

Thanks Guys.

Good Luck

Depressed,

I know the feeling and you have to fight it. Life plays tricks on the soul. At the end of the day, you have to repeat all the good stuff that you are greatful for and dont think too much about the bad. Truth is, poker is an escape and one well worht taking.

Depressed...

Mr_Taterhead Guys I am in a weird mood. I don't know what my problem is. I don't have any drive to play any poker. I haven't played online in about a week. I kinda think it has to do with me being so stressed out with everything going on in my life right now. I haven't been doing much when I get home from work besides sitting around with my wife and Harper and enjoying their company.

I recently got back from a bachelors trip for a buddy of mine that was in New Orleans. We ate at some nice places like The Red Fish Grill and The Bourbon House. We went to a couple of strip clubs, one was Ricks Cabaret and I cant recall the other one. We also went to a Saints game which they lost on a last second 52 yd field goal.

Guys I hope I start to feel better soon. I just wish that I knew what was going on in this body of mine. I feel like someone killed my dog.

Keep me in your prayers.

Billy
