I'm a Daddy!!!!!

Just a quick update while I am at home checking on the dog. My wife and I had our first child on Sunday afternoon at 3:10. We are so excited.

Harper Douglas Joiner is his name.

Those are the in-laws and my wife of course.

Grindage

Well I was tired of hearing Landlord79 talk about how good he was running so I jumped into the waters at Bodog and played a little poker tonight. I played for about 2 hours and 2-3 tabled $50NL. I ended up winning $25, but I was down about $40 at one point, so I was more than happy with the result. I felt like I played OK. I made a couple of hands and even made a nice laydown. YEAH Landlord79 I can make laydowns.

Here is a hand that I should have folded. This got me stuck early on.

Here is one I folded, but it looked fishy. I think this guy flopped a set and rivered a boat after looking it over. I wasn't going to bet the river, but i hit my miracle card.

Gotta go

Happy Birthday Me!!!!

Birthday Thoughts:

Tomorrow August 13th is my birthday. I will be 25. I always like to look back when my birthday rolls around and think of all the things that happened to me throughout the past year and reflect upon them. I have been through a lot in the past year, but one of the most difficult things was having to bury one of my grandmothers in December. She had been sick for a while and I am sure that she is in a better place now and not suffering. She will never get to meet her great grandson in this life, but I am sure she will be looking down on him and protecting him in everything that he will endure. Mamaw don’t ever forget that we love you!!!!!

Poker Stuff:

Well not a lot has been going on since my formal introduction. I have played a little poker, but mostly have been getting the house and stuff ready for the new arrival of our son. I played a couple of sessions of $25NL on Bodog and on Stars and I am down $32 over 1100 hands. I had a couple of interesting hands in which I proceeded to spew about 2 buyins when I played AA like an idiot and when I thought my TP was the best hand when it was bet and raised before it got back to me. I mean good grief I had TOP TOP. Both times the same guy flopped a set vs. me. Anyway I will update again when something interesting happens or if I play any more poker.

Introduction

Ok, so here is a little back story on BJJIII.

Life Story:

I am the youngest of 3 children raised by a single mother, who is my idol. I am 25 years old and have been married to my wonderful wife for almost 2 years. We are expecting our first child (boy) in a couple of weeks (Sept 9th) and we are very excited. I graduated from high school in about the middle of my class and then went on to college to major in Accounting, where I then graduated with a 3.0 GPA. I currently work in the accounting field for a telecommunications corporation in my hometown. My favorite sports teams are the New Orleans Saints and the Atlanta Braves.

Poker Story:

I have been playing poker for about 10 years. I started playing online poker in 2003 and I currently play small stakes ($25NL-$50NL) on PokerStars and on Bodog. I have been known to take some shots at higher stakes even though my roll is definitely not where it needs to be. My bread and butter live game is $1/$2NL. My home casino is the Horseshoe Casino in the Bossier City/Shreveport, LA area. My biggest poker score was when I recently chopped up a tourney in Tunica for $4,000, which you can read about here... My biggest score to date!

The purpose of this blog is to hopefully make my poker game better and to maybe even meet a few new people who enjoy the game of poker as much as I do.
