The Commerce:   California State Poker Championships

Ok, it's never to early to start talking about the California State Poker Championships at the Commerce Casino.  You might recall that the CSPC main event was the one in which EdmondDantes made his awkward run toward the final table only to pull up lame two spots short.

In any event, this year's CSPC will be held from Sep 2-21 and features buy-ins from $120 up to $1580.  It looks like the Commerce has reduced the buy-ins (this year's ME buy-in is $1580 vs. $2590 last year) and they've added a nifty little $120 buy-in deepstack event smack in the middle of the series.  More poker for less money?  Are you kidding me...we're in!

postoakpoker:  A little (lot) about me

Greetings fellow tworaggers! I've been a long time fan and avid reader of the blogs on this site, so I figured I should finally make an account here and start a little blog of my own. Hopefully this can serve the dual purpose of keeping those interested in how I've been doing and what I've been up to in the loop, as well as giving me additional motivation to put in hands and (hopefully) play my best. I should forewarn you that I enjoy writing & that I’m fairly loquacious, so feel free to give me a tl;dr if you stopped by!

Bond18:   Around the World in 90 Days - The Series

I was glancing over my intended schedule of upcoming live poker recently. For a while the rumor was the APPT was going to be starting up again in Macau in late March, though currently the consensus seems it’s more likely to happen in late April. After finding this out I realized it may line up very nicely for some of the other live poker I want to do, and end up creating a somewhat direct line of high stakes poker from Melbourne to Las Vegas.

Mr_Taterhead:  Hellooooooooooooo!!

It  has been a while since my last update, but not a lot has changed in the world of Mr Taterhead.  The last time I wrote I mentioned that I was going to take a couple of shots with my bankroll and if I busted it I would find something else to do with my spare time for a while.  Good news is that I didn’t bust my roll.  Yaaay me!!!!  Last month I played poker with the intention of winning enough to have a 15 buy in bankroll to 3 table $200NL on a regular basis. I got up to 12 buy ins at my peak when I decided that I had enough to take a couple of shots.  Well that wasn’t a good choice.  I dumped a couple of buyins at $200NL and was tilting out of my mind.  I immediately cashed all but $500 out of my online roll and rebuilt my live roll which allowed me to take a shot at a new $2/$5 NL game that opened at the Ameristar Vicksburg. Landlord79 and I made a trip to the Ameristar Vicksburg and we enjoyed it very much. We may have a new home!!!!  Be sure to check out our trip reports and poker room reviews from our little excursion...

SirWatts: Bellagio Cup IV Champion!

Last night, long-time TwoRags contributor, Mike 'SirWatts" Watson took down the WPT's Bellagio Cup IV for a nifty $1.673 million!  It could not have happened to a nicer, more deserving guy,  Congrats, SirWatts!

* That's Tony Dunst (aka Bond18) with his arm around Mike's shoulder and a huge "I had a 5% piece of the Bellagio IV Champion" grin.  We're sure Bond is thrilled for Watts, but he's also that he was smart enough to make a 5% swap prior to the tournament! Congrats to both of you guys!
