Bloggin' It Up

Well, let's see what's been goin on....

My webmaster hasn't completed my site yet, so for now I'm still exclusively blogging here. I'll admit I was hesitant at first to start blogging here (soon to be cross-posting once the site is done), but the feedback I've gotten has been very positive and I've enjoyed the surplus of comments.

Sunday I played all the majors, and only had one notable finish....I took 3rd place in a winner take all satellite to a $12k WPT package. I really have absolutely no idea why I decided to play it. After having very poor luck and bubbling several 15k Monte Carlo packages this spring I decided I would never play another MTT satellite that awarded a seat in a major event. Well, I obviously ended up ignoring my own advice and was spared $2,400 for my 3rd place finish, while 2nd paid $4,000 and 1st paid $12,000. At least this cash ended up covering all of my buy-in's on the day.

--------------

Many people know that I have a blog, but I doubt too many people know that I've been keeping a blog since I was 15. I've had accounts on all the major blogging sites, starting at Xanga when I was in my early teens, then had a blogger, live journal, then I think it was back to blogger. I'm not sure the exact order, but if you try to find them via Google you'll be unsuccessful. I've archived them to my computer and deleted them from the servers. There's a lot of great material in the archives to share, but also a lot of stuff I'd rather not remain on the internet - which explains why I took it off.

I do intend on writing a book someday - likely an autobiography.

My archived blogs will be a great start for me to write from. As I mentioned before I started blogging when I was 15. As you can imagine an awful lot has happened between then and now. Everything from learning the rules of No-Limit Hold'em (which I picked up when I was 16), earning the equivalent of an associates degree in the form of a network certification at the age of 17, having my right leg amputated below the knee, going through the mental torture of having to learn how to walk twice after having the first surgery botched up. Then after the government wouldn't give me financial aid in college (which seemed like almost a certainty considering my condition), I had no real future, as I couldn't walk without intense pain. I was lucky to find poker....this all happened fairly recently. One year ago I was grinding out $55 SNG's.....now, this summer alone I have had well over a half a million dollars in tournament profit. Progression in poker is sick.

I could go on (talking growing up with my health issues, how I got into poker, and much more) for quite awhile....Perhaps I will in a future post.

However, the point is, I believe I've lived as interesting as a life as anyone my age. Not only that, but the fact I've kept a blog for so many years and through such an interesting and diverse time makes it quite special. I feel as though I have a few years go before I begin writing my autobiography, but it's something I definitely plan on doing.

Alright guys, it's time for sleep. Thanks for reading.

Gettin back in the groove

The last few days I've been playing some online poker and have been truly enjoying it. Turns out the month long break from online play was just what I needed. I've been feeling really great about my game and have actually been having fun with it.

The other day I purchased some Bose Quiet Comfort 3's. They were my 3rd pair of headphones that cost over $300. I also own Quiet Comfort 2's and Shure e530's. I usually don't like wearing the big headset's at the poker table (too big and obnoxious in my opinion), so I usually listen to music using my Shure's. The Quiet Comfort 3's are a bit smaller, so I might use them next time I'm playing live.

Some other good news - I've been talking closely to several major poker sites about signing a major sponsorship deal. This would be a massive deal for me and I'm really hoping it goes through. I feel as though my results certainly justify signing a deal, and it's just a matter of time. I'm crossing my fingers it happens.

On another note I was recently asked to be featured in the poker magazine "Poker Pro." They asked for a high-resolution picture, so I can only assume it's going to be a fairly big feature. That'll be pretty cool when it hits store shelves.

That's all for now guys. Thanks for reading. My new blog at AdamJunglen.com should be completed soon.

Oh, Where to Start?

Hello Everyone,

Some of you may know me, some of you may not. My name's Adam Junglen, and I'm going to be letting tworags crosspost my blog (AdamJunglen.com ) over here for awhile. It's actually under construction at the moment, and should be back by Sunday, but if I end up getting good feedback here then I see no reason why I wouldn't allow it to continue.

I look forward to hearing back from the community, and hope this is the start of something good.
